    Dr. Elisa Pérez-Luna

Hello, Blair! I was born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley and bring to Blair over fifteen years of experience in education. I am passionate about ensuring an excellent education for all children and I strongly believe in the power of caring and effective teachers, counselors, and administrators.

Prior to joining Blair as Assistant Principal, I was a proud pre-college program coordinator, community liaison, social studies teacher and secondary school instructional coach. I started my career in education to make a difference in the way students learn, and to create greater and more equitable opportunities for all children, especially those who are furthest from opportunity.

As a teacher, I focused on project based learning where students took ownership of their learning by creating relevant and exciting projects. As a pre-college program coordinator, I supported middle and high school teachers, parents, and students with pre-college skills, guidance, and academic support. As an instructional coach I facilitated professional development workshops for teachers related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment. I also collaborated with a variety of educators to adapt and modify curriculum to accommodate and meet the needs of all learners.

As a mother, I know the significance of taking an active role in the education of our children and the responsibility placed on school leaders. I am grateful parents and community members have entrusted me with their most valued possession, their children. I believe a quality education is the right of all young students and I am excited to be serving and supporting Blair as an assistant principal.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Spanish Literature from Georgetown University, my Master’s Degree and a California Teaching Credential from UCLA, my California Administrative Credential from Cal Poly Pomona, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from UCLA. I am fluent in Spanish and in my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening and crafting.
