Robotics

This course is designed to introduce students to computer science concepts through project-based assignments. Students will use the Lego NXT Robot kit and the RobotC programming language to build and design effective robots and that will perform a variety tasks.
For the 2018 interschool school robotics competion, Wilson teams represented 5 of the 8 finalists led by their instructor Mr. Jason Taylor, Wilson Middle School's Math Department Chair, Integrated Math I/Honors and Robotics instructor and 2017 PUSD Teacher of the Year. For 2019 Wilson again won First Place.
The projects will be designed to have students use:- Critical thinking – to break down complex problems and debug programs.
- Collaboration – to work with others to make decisions and reach common goals.
- Creativity – to find alternative solution within the framework of the project.
