Things your child will need to bring TO SCHOOL on the first day:
- a BACKPACK - needs to be big enough to carry a 9" by 12" folder
- a RED, PLASTIC, 9" by 12"- 2 POCKET FOLDER- needs to be visibly labeled with your child's first and last name on the front. -Please make sure that the folder is PLASTIC- this will be used as the homework folder all year so it needs to be STURDY. The paper folders don't last much more than a month!
- Please do NOT buy your child a 3-ring binder. It will not fit in his/her desk with all of the other books and supplies.
Things your child will need AT HOME:
(PLEASE KEEP THESE SUPPLIES AT HOME- We will provide many of the same supplies for the students AT SCHOOL)
- pencils
- erasers
- + and - flash cards
- crayons
- glue stick
- old magazines that can be cut up
- ruler
- children's scissors
- children's dictionary- this will be useful throughout the years at Don Benito
Things that are needed by our classroom throughout the year:

Life skills to practice with your child over the summer:
- Tying his or her shoes independently
- Zipping zippers, fastening belts, buttoning buttons- dressing and undressing independently
- Toileting skills- he or she needs to be able to go to the bathroom independently
- Blowing his or her nose independently
