Success through the Arts: Arts Integration

  • Lesson Plan Library (Teacher Access Only)

At Eliot Arts, we integrate art into core academics, fostering 21st Century skills and the application of Common Core standards. Teachers collaborate with our arts instructors and professional arts partners to develop engaging, rigorous lessons that meet objectives in both the focus content area and the arts.

This summer, teachers attended workshops in Arts Integration at The Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens, Design-Based Learning at the Art Center College of Design, and Multicultural Education with Dr. Bill Howe.

Ms. Stevens' class works with artist Liane Shih to create artist trading cards based on the poem, "I'm Nobody! Who are you?" by Emily Dickinson. Students will create artworks on these small cards throughout the year to deepen comprehension and demonstrate understanding in their English class.
