Registration/Enrollment Procedures

  • NEW STUDENTS

    If you are new to the school and live within the neighborhood attendance area: 
    Please enroll your child in December/January during the prior school year. This will enable the school to plan for the upcoming school year (number of teachers, resources needed, etc.) and will help the school to know how many open enrollment seats to release to those families who live outside of the Hamilton neighborhood attendance area but who would like to attend our school. While neighborhood registration technically continues through the start of the school year, parents are advised to register early as enrollment at Hamilton is contingent upon space availability.

    If you live outside the neighborhood attendance area and would like to attend Hamilton:
    Please contact the Pasadena Unified School District for details on the District’s open enrollment process. This usually occurs in January of the prior school year. If you have been accepted to Hamilton through the open enrollment process, please enroll during the period specified by your acceptance letter.

    How to Enroll:
    Please bring the following information to enroll for your first year at Hamilton Elementary School:

    • Open Enrollment letter (if applicable)
    • Birth Certificate
    • Proof of TB test done within one year or less of the start of school
    • Up to date Immunization and Vaccination Records (contact district for details)
    • Two proofs of residency in the form of a recent gas, electric or water bill in your name.

    The school office will provide you with the following forms that must be completed and returned for registration to be complete:

    • Physical Exam Form
    • Dental Health Screening Form

     

    CONTINUING STUDENTS

    If you are currently attending Hamilton Elementary School, you will automatically be enrolled for the following school year – this applies to all students including those who (a) live within the neighborhood attendance area; (b) were admitted through open enrollment; or (c) are attending Hamilton on a District permit. If you do not plan to return to the school, please notify the office so that they may assign your seat to another student.
