I am a Mexican American who grew up in South El Monte, a small urban city in the San Gabriel Valley.  I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelor's in Biology.  While in my final quarter at Cal Poly Pomona I was able to become the docent of the school's BioTrek which is where I found my spark and love for teaching!  As a teacher I served as an advisor for a variety of activities such as Girls Build LA, the SeaPerch ROV Competition, softball, and the PTSA.  My education philosophy is to positively impact students in achieving their maximum potential by increasing their self efficacy with the support of the school community.  My vision is to continue to build our community's collective capacity in giving students the best opportunity for them to follow their individual dreams.  I genuinely believe that together we can "give all children the roots to grow and wings to fly."
