Language Assessment & Development

  • The Language Assessment & Development Department (LADD) coordinates all aspects of English Learner Programs for the Pasadena Unified School District including:

    • Development and implementation of curriculum and instructional practices aimed at providing quality learning for all English Learners
    • Providing staff development and instructional support to teachers of English Learners;
    • Providing an annual Evaluation of English Learner Programs;
    • The coordination of the District’s CELDT (California English Language Development Test) assessments on initial English Learners as well as monitoring their progress in acquiring English annually until they are reclassified;
    • Coordinating services at the The International Academy at Blair High School.
    • Coordinating the Annual Census of English Learners;
    • The monitoring of state and federal English Learner funds;
    • Supporting parents through the DELAC (District English Learner Advisory Committee);
    • Coordinating the district’s Seal of Biliteracy Award
