Mr. Robert Hernandez

Welcome PHS Families and Community! I am Robert Hernandez and I proudly serve as Principal of Pasadena High School. I started my Education career in Alief ISD (Houston, TX), where I taught fifth and sixth grade bilingual Math, Science, Reading, and Social Studies. I have served as an English Learner Instructional Specialist/Coach, an Assistant Principal, and a middle school Principal.

I’ve learned a great deal in the past fifteen years from dynamic teachers, mentors, and my students. Education is one of the most important rights granted to our students and I’ve worked hard to ensure our students have opportunities to maximize their potential and build upon their strengths as individuals. I also believe that our role as an educational community is to build positive relationships with students and families that ultimately have a positive trajectory on their lives. I look forward to working with our community and building relationships with students, faculty, staff, and families.

I earned a B.A. in History from Texas A&M University and my teaching credential through St. Thomas University. I completed my M.S. in Education Administration from University of Houston-Clear Lake in 2007. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, running, and cycling. Go Bulldogs!

Mrs. Vivian Huang

It’s a great honor that I join the Team of Bulldogs as the Assistant Principal. I have begun my administrative work as a TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignments) coaching and providing support to the special education staff. This experience gave me an invaluable foundation to build up my skill set as a Special Education Coordinator that began in 2017. As a strong advocate for students with exceptional needs, my primary goal has never changed which is to connect resources to our students and families and to meet their programmatic needs. With my teaching career began in a non-public school teaching the most vulnerable and marginalized youth, I quickly realized that the evidence-based interventions in both academic and socioemotional development were the key to build resilience in learning and bridge the cap for student achievement. All students deserve an equitable educational experience.

I earned a B.A. degree in Child Development, an Education Specialist Credential as well as a Master of Arts degree in Special Education from the California State University, Los Angeles. I further pursued my advanced graduate studies in Educational Administration with the University of California, Irvine. When I am off campus, I enjoy biking and hiking with my husband and our two boys. My greatest accomplishment in recent years was that I finally conquered my fear and learned how to ski. My children were indeed the best mentor teachers on this adventurous journey! I look forward to the years ahead to service our Bulldog community.

Mrs. Huang is the Assistant Principal in charge of Student Activities and Facilities at Pasadena High School.
