Child Nutrition Programs at Pasadena Unified SD are federally funded and administered by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)and at the state level, the California Department of Education (CDE). Each program operates under a separate set of regulations.
School Breakfast Program
This program provides nutritionally balance & affordable breakfasts to students each day. Pasadena USD offers breakfast at all school sites.
National School Lunch Program
Nutritionally balanced, affordable lunches are prepared each day at our school by our staff. to students each school day. School lunch menus must meet meal requirements specific to the age/grade group of students served.
At Risk After-School Supper Program
Supper meals are available to students who participate in a regularly scheduled and planned after school educational or enrichment activities.
Summer Food Service Program
The Seamless Summer Food Service Program (SSFSP) provides meals and snacks to children during the summer months when regular school is not in session. School-age youth 18 years and younger are eligible form free meals at any of our Fuel Up For Summer Fun meal sites. Meal sites are located in an area of at least 50% of the enrolled students who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals. Meals are served at no cost.
Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)
The Food & Nutritrion Services Department also supports the four district child care facilites year round. Each day students at these locations receive breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack in portion sizes that are age appropriate based on USDA guidelines.
